ASOS Has Every Fashion Trend Covered RN & I Just Bought It All

We’re on the cusp of winter, and the ASOS new in section – which, TLDR, is a party season dream come true – has only heightened my excitement. The summer blues have passed, and I’m fully ready for mulled wine, Christmas markets, Winter Wonderland, and all the events that pop up during the festive season.

OK, so the invites haven’t exactly flooded in yet, but with Mariah Carey defrosting and November 1st being just 24 hours away, I know it’s only a matter of time.

I can’t wait for the endless excuses to dress up – firework night soirees, Christmas office parties, and, of course, the most disappointing but fashionable night of the year, New Year’s Eve. This year, I’ve decided to manifest the invites by getting my wardrobe in order nice and early. I’m talking sparkles à la the Sachin & Babi AW24 runway, Hermès and Valentino-approved moody tones, and kitten heels galore.

ASOS is always my go-to online clothing brand for last-minute outfit needs, but as I’m curating my style more carefully this year, it’s also the perfect place to plan ahead and mood-board my winter capsule wardrobe. With its endless brands and seasonal selections, ASOS truly is a one-stop shop for holiday fashion.

The full burgundy ‘fit

I spent far too long browsing the ASOS Luxe collection and lingered over countless items in A/W 24’s chicest shade: oxblood.

So, first on my hit list was a stunning oxblood sequin two-piece. The flared sleeves and sequins radiated a true ’60s vibe, and the sparkle made me feel like a walking disco ball — which is precisely the attention-grabbing look I love. I paired it with cool-girl sunglasses and chunky Mary Janes in a matching oxblood shade for a slightly demure twist.

The suit

A good, tailored women’s trouser suit is essential this time of year, and this set was the ideal mix of serious and sexy. I’m a 5’10 size 14, so finding chic trousers that fit my waist and don’t hover awkwardly above my ankles is no easy feat, but this pair was spot-on at balancing stretch with structure, making them super comfy without sacrificing style.

The top offered a deconstructed blazer vibe, with a plunging V-neck layered with a nude mesh for coverage, and it featured an oversized bow at the back for that extra bit of drama. I paired this with a sequin clutch and matching heels, but this look could easily be dressed down pre-party too.

The horsegirl trend look

One of the other trends I’ve noticed on the AW24 runways is a turn toward equestrian-inspired pieces, as we say goodbye to the bratty summer maximalism and embrace a cleaner, Ralph Lauren-esque aesthetic. I chose a blue, horse-print dress and paired it with some winter boots and a leather jacket, creating a look that’s versatile enough to take me from day to night during party season.
