Bridgerton star Luke Newton has had his glow up, now he’s entering the world of movies. He will star opposite Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale in sci-fi thriller White Mars.
It will tell the story of a malevolent entity that infiltrates a research facility in Antarctica, where Hale plays a microbiologist who teams up with Newton’s character Leo to save their fellow crew members. Will there be romantic, steamy, Bridgerton-esque vibes between the two leads? Only time will tell on that one.
White Mars will be directed by Martin Owen, with filming taking place in a virtual production environment at the Cinecittà Studios in Rome. Very futuristic.
Hale has described White Mars as “an absolute psychological thrill ride”. “I’m so excited to film this at the Cinecittà film stages in Rome,” she said in a statement, describing her character Sammie as “the heart of this story”.
“I truly admire for her resilience and strength,” she said. “I can’t wait to collaborate with Martin Owen, our incredible cast, and the entire team to bring this story to life.”

Of course, Luke Newton is still very much in the Bridgerton universe, with himself and co-star (and onscreen lover) Nicola Coughlan confirming that their characters (fandom relationship name: Polin) will absolutely be featuring in the upcoming season 4, with Coughlan teasing more intimate scenes from the couple in the new chapter, which looks like it’ll have a 2026 release date. Boo.
We will see their characters Penelope and Colin navigate Regency era as life as new parents, and Penelope will flesh out her role as the not-so-anonymous Lady Whistledown. Of course, a new romance will be introduced as well, with Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) taking centre stage with newly cast Yerin Ha playing his love interest Sophie Baek.
We look forward to seeing Luke dominate the sci-fi would like he has the Bridgerton romantic multi-verse.
