When I was 10-12 and my mom went back to grad school to get her PhD, I had a lot of free time wandering around campus on weekends between the pinball games in the Union and the galleries. There was an artist in a gallery on campus I used to love to stare at his paintings, they were done in a photo-realistic style but the subject was rather surreal. I remember one that was an exquisitely detailing painting of a messy kitchen table covered with dirty dishes and spilled condiments and the title was something like “Mrs So and So does such and such while her little friends play”. I would love to find this artist again, any ideas?? I feel like, years later, I saw a book of the same artist’s work and it was a lot of hyper realistic paintings of cats in tuxedos.
