Cops turning on lights/siren to skip red lights

Basically title. In the past 2-3 weeks I feel like I’ve seen at least a dozen APD cars come up to a stop light, realize it’s red, then proceed to turn on their sirens just so everyone stops at the intersection. Then they’ll proceed to cross, and immediately turn off the siren and lights after they get to the other side.

While I realize sometimes cops do need to stay on the down low and not alert criminals by going no sirens/lights, the frequency is making me sus. Has other people observed this?
