Elizabeth and Damian Hurley Ready to Dazzle at The Melbourne Cup Carnival!
The Victorian Racing Club has just set the stage for an extraordinary celebration of fashion and sport, as it proudly announces that the fabulous Elizabeth Hurley and her charming son, Damian, will grace Australia’s greatest racing carnival this year! Attending both the illustrious Lexus Melbourne Cup Day and the elegant Crown Oaks Day, the dynamic duo is set to turn heads and steal the spotlight at this world-class event.
VRC Chairman Neil Wilson said the club was delighted to welcome Elizabeth and Damian to Australia for the 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“We are honoured Elizabeth and Damian have accepted our invitation to attend Cup Week and celebrate the world class racing and enjoy this year’s edition of Australia’s original major event with the Victoria Racing Club,” Mr Wilson said.
Elizabeth and Damian will be lending their star power to the much-anticipated Fashions on the Field event in The Park, where they will take on the role of announcing the winners for the coveted titles of Best Suited and Best Dressed. As global icons of style and sophistication, the Hurleys are sure to bring a touch of glamour that will elevate the event to new heights!
Expressing her excitement about attending The Melbourne Cup Carnival, Elizabeth said she was excited to return to Australia with her son Damian to be part of such a world-class event.
“Damian and I are thrilled to be coming to Australia to celebrate the Melbourne Cup Carnival with the Victoria Racing Club,” Elizabeth said.
“Watched by millions across the globe, we are looking forward to being at Flemington to experience the event first-hand and hopefully find a winner along the way. We are also very much looking forward to all the fashion and entertainment that makes this carnival truly unique.”
Racegoers should keep a keen eye out for the famous Brit duo as they make their rounds in The Park and the iconic Birdcage Enclosure, where the A-Listers gather in their most elevated racewear.
The Fashions on the Field event has long been a highlight of the carnival, celebrating creativity, individuality, and, of course, the art of dressing to impress. With Elizabeth and Damian at the helm, the competition is bound to be fierce, with stylish contenders vying for the top honours.
The 2024 Melbourne Cup Carnival begins with Penfolds Victoria Derby Day on Saturday 2 November, followed by Lexus Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 5 November, Crown Oaks Day on Thursday 7 November and TAB Champions Stakes Day on Saturday 9 November.
