On October 2nd, 2024, the Prince and Princess of Wales met 16-year-old Liz Hatton at Windsor Castle.
Prince William invited Liz, a talented young photographer battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer, to a private investiture ceremony. Fulfilling her lifelong dream of photographing a royal, Liz was given the opportunity to capture Prince William in action at the event.
Following the investiture, Liz and her family had a private audience with William and Kate. Liz told The Times that she and Kate spoke about photography, specifically types of lenses, rather than focusing on their respective battles with cancer.
On social media, the royal couple expressed their admiration for Liz’s courage and creativity. They shared the following message:

Kate, returning to public duties after completing chemotherapy, looked elegant in a maroon Roland Mouret pantsuit paired with a tan Ralph Lauren sweater and gold Cassandra Goad earrings.
