Something wicked this way comes, and we are not referring to Halloween, but rather the first Wicked movie starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Everyone and their mamas are getting ready for the first instalment in Jon M. Chu’s franchise — and in the Kardashians’ case, we mean that quite literally.
Almost the whole Kardashian clan — we are talking mums, grandmas, daughters, sons, and more — congregated last night for a special private viewing of Wicked ahead of its premiere on November 22, and, of course, they went all out for the occasion.
On social media, various members of the Kardashian-Jenner family posted videos of the lavish sleepover, which was attended by leading stars Ariana Grande (who plays Galinda/Glinda in the movie) and Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba.)
Of course, the theme of the night was green and pink, and the Kardashians committed. The entrance to the venue — Kim’s house, per her own Instagram stories — was decorated with pink flowers and balloons, while a ceiling of green balloons and emerald carpet covered the inside rooms.
Refreshments were also served in the two iconic shades, including what appears to be some sort of green smoothie (Kourtney was in attendance after all), a mysterious fuchsia drink, popcorn in custom Elphaba and Glinda boxes, as well cakes.
The family took things to the next level by coordinating SKIMS PJs courtesy of Kim, who posted the racks with selections to her Instagram stories. The options included plain green and pink pieces as well as more seasonal tartan and even patterned sets. Everyone seems to have opted for green PJs and pink socks except for Ariana Grande (in true Glinda style), who opted to reverse the colour combination. Stormi, True, Chicago, and Dream were also team pink, though they incorporated no socks to their looks. Khloe’s youngest, Tatum, wore a Wicked-themed set from Zip N’ Bear and commemorated watching his first-ever non-cartoon film, per Khloe’s IG stories.
Fashion and snacks were not all — the private viewing also had its own photocall and a spread of Mattel Wicked fashion dolls (yes, the ones that sing), plus Funko Pops and vinyl toys.
Seeing this is the family that has thrown Bratz- and Barbie-themed birthday parties and always goes out of the way for Christmas, one would assume this Wicked PJ party was their doing. However, the masterminds were Grande and Erivo themselves.
“Look what Cynthia and Ariana set up for us,” Kim said in a video posted to her Instagram stories showing the decorations in all their glory. “Oh my gosh, I’ve never been more excited.” We would be, too, not going to lie!
