Our fresh and breezy summer garments are now tucked away in our drawers, swapping places with sweaters, coats, and gloves, our best defenses against winter’s cold. But Angelina Jolie must not have gotten the memo. The actor continues to brave the harshest temperatures with summer footwear on her feet.
In Italy a few days ago for the Torino Film Festival, the actor wore a Brunello Cucinelli ensemble that she complemented with a pair of very light ballet flats. But it was during one of her outings in New York, where harsh winter temperatures hover around freezing, that Angelina Jolie accomplished the real feat.

To pay a visit to her Atelier Jolie design studio, the Unbroken director sported a simple, neutral look: an oversized grey cardigan, left unbuttoned and from which a white tank top peeked out, paired with a pair of black flared velvet pants.
As for accessories, Jolie reached for her trusty oversized black sunglasses, a quilted Dior clutch bag, and a good hot coffee. A very simple outfit, almost normal one would say. Where, then, is the real surprise? Just lower your gaze slightly and admire her shoes. A pair of imposing sandals with maxi platforms, from which darkly polished toes sprout.
Strictly summer footwear that one would not expect to see in December, yet, as already pointed out, this is not the first time Angelina Jolie has avoided closed-toe shoes in the fall months. For the November screening of her film Maria, she showed up in a pair of heels that left her feet uncovered. More recently, on the Gotham Awards red carpet in New York earlier this week, she sported black Aquazzura sandals.
One must conclude that Angelina Jolie is simply superhuman, and possesses both skin that is impervious to the cold and an unwavering fashion sense. The end.
