Kate Spade takes over London pub for experiential festive pop-up

Talk about new, experiential forms of retail… Kate Spade takes the cake with its first-ever pub takeover. The retailer, known for its playful leather goods and trinkets, is taking up residency at the Exmouth Arms, located in London’s Exmouth market, today and tomorrow.

Over the years, Kate Spade has been synonymous with gifting and celebrations. Bringing its holiday-ready line-up to London, the brand reconceptualised the traditional pub environment, creating the ultimate festive experience.

Aptly named ‘The Kate Spade Arms,’ the experiential activation delivers an “unexpected and festive design” that evokes the holiday season. Bespoke hand painted pub signs adorn the establishment’s exterior, while its interior highlights the brand’s wit and charm with a modern ode to the ‘British Pub’.

During the pop-up (6-7 December), guests are invited to enjoy a dining experience from the curated Kate Spade menu, including specialty drinks. Guests can enjoy atmospheric live music from an all-female brass brand, play a round of branded pub games, or sign up to participate in a series of workshops.

“Kate Spade New York is known for its distinct point of view, anchored by how we craft moments of celebration big and small. As we introduce ‘The Kate Spade Arms’ at an iconic London pub, we celebrate the UK’s traditions and culture of community gathering and bring our brand to life in an unexpected and juxtaposed way this Holiday season,” said Matteo De Bortoli Albricci, SVP, General Manager, EMEAI at Tapestry.

“We are constantly exploring new ways to engage with younger customers, and we want to authentically meet our community where they are in a way that is uniquely Kate Spade. As an emotive brand, we value the importance of building deeper connections with our customers through interactive experiences, and what better way in the Holiday season than to dine together, play classic pub games and get to take part in a series of curated and engaging workshops.”

The workshop programming includes:

  • Deadstock scrunchie-making workshop with Good Squish
  • Dibre art class with the Material Grrrlz community
  • A ‘game and chill’ session in partnership with Black Girl Gamers
  • A ‘carb and a cocktail’ masterclass with Influencer Maddi (Crip & Dip)
  • Crumble-making workshop with desert shop Humble Crumble
  • Candle making with OHROS Candles
  • A community run club and pub lunch with Lonely Girls Club
  • A pub quiz
  • DJ set from TikTok sensation Lewys Ball

Visitors are encoured to sign up for workshops through each partner’s designated platforms. Meanwhile, dining reservations at ‘The Kate Spade Arms’ can be made via the booking portal here.
