Rihanna and A$AP Rocky’s Show-Stopping FNAA 2024 Looks

Another day, another style award for A$AP Rocky, and another opportunity for Rihanna to take center stage.

A$AP Rocky won Collaboration of the Year with Puma at the Footwear News Achievement Awards, just days after the rapper was recognized with the British Fashion Council’s Cultural Innovator Award. Rihanna has also collaborated with Puma on some collections under her Fenty line, which closed its doors in 2021 after just two years of production.

As expected of the power couple, they ate, devoured, and left no crumbs, delivering yet another stylish moment on the red carpet. Rihanna, of course, was the center of attention in a custom white Alaia dress, but A$AP Rocky didn’t fall behind in his black attire.

A$AP Rocky Nails Cool Sophistication in Bottega Veneta Leather

A$AP Rocky, one of the evening’s honorees, opted for his effortlessly cool aesthetic. But instead of wearing his usual loose-fitting baggy clothes, he dressed in an aviator-style bomber jacket by Bottega Veneta, made in Italy from black lambskin leather with a shearling collar and an elasticated hem.

It was cropped to give it a boxy appearance, emphasizing his bold brown belt with three huge buckles that showcase his unique and wild sense of style. He wore it with black pants, which, in my opinion, would have looked better if they were cut precisely at the ankles.

A$AP Rocky rounded out his cool style with the same square-toed shoes he wore to the 2024 Fashion Awards. I adore how they gave the unusual combo a contemporary twist.

Last year, A$AP Rocky was named as the creative director of Puma’s Formula 1 line. This year, the sportswear manufacturer collaborated with the rapper to produce some spectacular sneaker drops. These include new iterations of the Inhale, redesigned with a mesh upper, heat-cut flames surrounding the Formstrip, and a translucent gradient sole, and the Mostro, which has been drastically redesigned using 3D printing.

Rihanna Steals the Show in a Stunning White Alaïa Dress

Rihanna was A$AP Rocky’s guest at the event, but she nonetheless stole the spotlight! The Barbados national hero stood out by wearing an all-white outfit in contrast to A$AP Rocky’s dark ensemble.

She wore a flattering figure-hugging white dress with a collar and cuffed long sleeves, like a shirt dress. However, it’s not your typical shirt dress. Its floor-length train and popped high collar add a regal touch, befitting RiRi’s fearless, unapologetic personality. I love how these features enhance her commanding presence and further contribute to her royal look.

It also features a bold center slit, a plunging neckline, and ruching around the hips, which provide a daring touch to the regal dress.

This dress, created by Alaia creative director Pieter Mulier, once again demonstrates Rihanna’s versatility in fashion. She can pull off everything from high couture to street style to hip-hop.

Rihanna’s Bold Jewelry and Sleek Y2K-Inspired Beauty Look

Rihanna isn’t one to settle for anything too basic. Wearing dramatic jewelry pieces from the Mikimoto x Chrome Hearts collaborative collection, I’m sure she knows that a white outfit is the perfect blank canvas for bold jewelry.

Together with Mikimoto, a brand known for its cultured pearls, Chrome Hearts, a brand recognized for its grungy, rock ‘n’ roll aesthetic, created a two-part jewelry collection that celebrates the “fusion of contrasting aesthetics, embodying the spirit of innovation and artistic expression that defines both brands.”

She wore a lariat earring in 18k white gold with diamonds, pearls, and silver spikes at the ends and a two-of-a-kind handcrafted pearl choker necklace with a filigree motif.

In addition, Rihanna wore Jacob & Co. stud earrings and a couple of statement diamond rings, which enhanced the look’s glitz.

I must credit Rihanna’s stylist, Jahleel Weaver, for curating her look and helping her project a powerful aura, though she’s not an honoree.

Her glam team, too, deserves recognition for creating her sleek beauty look. Although her outfit was simple and sophisticated, her hair, styled by Naphia White, made a statement. She wore fringes that grazed her eyebrows and knots and twists that harken back to the year 2000. It’s similar to Jodie Turner-Smith’s hairstyle while promoting The Agency last month!

Priscilla Ono, meanwhile, gave her feathery eyelashes and neutral eyeshadow. A hint of peachy blush and a swipe of ombre lipstick completed her glam.

Rihanna’s Custom Manolo Blahnik Lace-Up Heels Turn Heads

Known for her love of bold footwear, Rihanna wore one of her signature styles: lace-up heels. She regularly pairs lace-up heels with bold outfits, as evidenced by her appearance at the Off-White Fall/Winter 2022 runway show during Paris Fashion Week, where she was seen wearing an Off-White peach leather minidress and Manolo Blahnik snakeskin sandals, and her appearance in London in a Balmain dress and Dsquared2 sandals.

For the FNAA 2024, Rihanna wore custom-made Manolo Blahnik heels with strappy lace-up straps that wrapped up her legs. They also have crisscross straps that frame her pedicured feet and stiletto heels that add to her 5’8” height.
