Linda Cantello – Makeup Artist

Linda Cantello established herself in the late eighties, and since has collaborated with every major photographer in the industry, from Irving Penn and Richard Avedon to Steven Klein and David Sims. Her makeup regularly appears in all of the fashion and beauty books, from American, British, Italian, and French Vogue and Harpers Bazaar, to I-D and Dazed and Confused. Her advertising clients include almost all the major cosmetics companies and fashion houses. Linda Cantello’s influence has a broad and impressive reach, but perhaps she is best known for the innovative looks she sends down the runways each season.

After graduating London’s Harrow Art School with a degree in Fine Art, Cantello moved to Rome and invented herself as a makeup artist. Having found her way into fashion, Cantello quickly established herself in London, Paris, Milan and New York.

Cantello has helped create some of the most iconic fashion advertising of our time, with Nick Knight, Javier Vallhonrat, and Paolo Roversi in Paris, David Sims in London and Richard Avedon and Steven Klein in New York.

Cantello has now launched her own makeup line, which bears her name, and also is the artistic advisor to Yves Saint Laurent Beaute line.

Cantello’s clients range from Ralph Lauren, Yves Saint Laurent, Jil Sander, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Versace, Gucci, Yohji Yamamoto, Stella McCartney, Max Mara, Richard Tyler, Chloe, Cerruti, Lanvin, Martine Sitbon, Jean Colonna, Calvin Klein, Helmut Lang, Giorgio Armani, Guy Laroche, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, John Galliano, Carolina Herarra, etc.
