Keri Russell stars in the critically-acclaimed, Emmy-nominated Netflix series The Diplomat, which returns for season two this Thursday (Halloween, to be exact). Academy Award winner Allison Janney joins the series as the Vice President of the United States. And if you haven’t watched yet, take this as a sign you should: The Diplomat has already been renewed for a third season. Creator and showrunner Debora Cahn says season three will “flip the chessboard as Kate (Keri Russell) lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want.”
But before we get ahead of ourselves, check out a clip from season two, which sees a very impressive VP Grace Penn have a word with Russell’s Kate:
Meanwhile, if you love a good documentary, there are two that should be on your radar this week: Martha on Netflix, and Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words on Prime Video. Both take a deeper look into the lives of these powerful and complex women, and Martha Stewart‘s doc has already made waves for what the writer and businesswoman reveals when talking about cheating spouses.
Over on the Disney Channel and Disney+, the spinoff of Wizards of Waverly Place—titled Wizards Beyond Waverly Place—debuts with Selena Gomez reprising her role. (More on that below.) On Wednesday, Joan receives quite a shock during her overnight dates on The Golden Bachelorette. I’ll have an interview with the contestant who goes home, so come back to Glamour and our Bachelorette coverage as soon as that episode ends on the east coast.
It’s also Halloween this week (you know, in case you’ve been living under a rock), so there is plenty of spooky-themed programming to be found. And with that, I’ll see you back here next week to break down all the election night coverage, the Men Tell All episode of The Golden Bachelorette, and what else to watch that won’t raise your blood pressure as we wait for election night votes to come in.
