Voting Info: Election Day Questions, Line Updates, Questions, Megathread

Note: Keep this civil, keep this related to voting questions. There will be another megathread put up later today to cover results.

Individual posts asking about lines, or what to do in situations will be redirected to here.

The main thing is GO OUT AND VOTE
If you have links to voter guides, post them here and we’ll include them in the next post!

Registration Status Suspense or other issues??

Here’s a handy guide by u/rken:

You can DEFINITELY still vote if your registration is in suspense!! This article also has some inaccurate voting info, I just requested that they correct it. Start by checking your status here: https://teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do

  • If you are in Suspense and you still live in the same county: you are 100% good to go, you will be able to vote a full ballot at any normal polling place either early or on Election Day. They’ll just ask you to do some extra paperwork.
  • If you are in Suspense and you moved counties: YOU MUST VOTE EARLY AND YOU MUST GO TO THE MAIN POLLING PLACE IN YOUR COUNTY. You will be able to vote a Limited Ballot, which includes federal and statewide races but nothing local. Limited Ballots are counted exactly the same way as normal ballots and there is no further action needed from you, BUT YOU CANNOT USE THIS OPTION ON ELECTION DAY. (The article gets this wrong!)
  • If you are told you are not currently registered to vote in any TX county (Inactive/Cancelled rather than Suspense), and you believe that to be incorrect, you should ask to be given a Provisional ballot and ask for instructions about how to follow up and provide supportive evidence if needed. You can do this from any polling place, either during Early Voting or on Election Day. Your ballot *may* be counted if they determine that an error was made.
  • If you are told there is a problem with your ID, and you don’t know FOR SURE that you’ll be able to return with the correct ID/supporting documents before voting ends, you should go to any polling place and ask for a Provisional Ballot as above. You will then have 6 days to return with valid ID/documents and “cure” your ballot, which will then be counted.
  • If you requested a mail-in ballot and never received it, and you can make it to the county where you’re registered, you should go to any polling place and request a Provisional Ballot. As soon as they determine that you did not also submit your mail-in ballot, your Provisional ballot will be counted. If you cannot make it to the county where you are registered, YOU MUST VOTE EARLY AND YOU MUST GO TO THE MAIN POLLING PLACE OF YOUR CURRENT COUNTY. I believe you will need to request a Provisional Limited Ballot, but I’m not 100% sure about the details of this scenario. YOU CANNOT USE THIS OPTION ON ELECTION DAY. In either of these scenarios, you will not be required to return within the 6 day window (assuming you present valid ID).

Be sure to contact your county’s election office if you have further questions.
