Where is Joan from The Golden Bachlorette from?

Joan Vassos is from Rockville, Maryland. The Golden Bachelorette works as a private school administrator. She has four kids with her late husband John— Nick, 34, Erica, 33, Allison, 30, and Luke, 28, as well as three grandchildren. Meanwhile, Chock is a 60-year-old Insurance Executive from Wichita, Kansas who has two kids, Taylor, 25, and Tyler, 23 with his ex-wife.

Chock and Joan revealed that they were moving to New York City and achieving their dream goals of living in the Big Apple, but they assured that it wouldn’t be an easy transition. “This first year, obviously, we have to kind of figure out life. Chock has a business in Kansas. I have kids and grandkids and Maryland. I’m not leaving Maryland, but he does have obligations in Kansas,” Joan told Us Weekly. “We know that we’re gonna spend time in Maryland and in Kansas, but then we have this really fun plan because both of us have always dreamed — and we’re finally at this weird stage in life for making this dream come true — that we live in a big city, and, specifically, we’ve always wanted to live in New York. So Chock surprised me and said, ‘I want us to go find a place.’”

“We’re gonna navigate it. We’re willing to spend time at each person’s hometown. We’re gonna spend a lot of time in New York City,” Chock added. “We’re gonna get on with our lives.”

Previously, Joan said that relocating with her partner was “not happening,” She told Entertainment Weekly in a cover story, “My family is the most important thing, and I also don’t want a guy who thinks he needs to relocate. If he’s able to uproot his life, he’s probably not my kind of guy.” She proposed that a perfect solution for here was “merging someplace in the middle for a few weeks or months.”

She also said that she’s going to wait a little while before heading down the altar. “I don’t want to rush into anything. I don’t need to! I don’t have a biological clock that I’m worried about anymore,” she says with a laugh. “I have a full life. Figuring out how you merge lives is a longer process. If you have the love, then it’s worth it.”
