VANCOUVER- WestJet (WS) is set to inaugurate a groundbreaking direct route between Vancouver (YVR) and Austin (AUS), commencing May 11, 2025, signaling a strategic expansion of cross-border connectivity and economic collaboration.
The new service will operate three times weekly, creating a robust transportation link between Western Canada and the Southern United States.
WestJet Vancouver to Austin Flights
The airline will operate two distinct daily flight schedules:
- Vancouver to Austin: Departing at 6:00 p.m. local time, arriving at 12:17 a.m.
- Austin to Vancouver: Departing at 8:00 a.m. local time, arriving at 10:38 a.m.
Daniel Fajardo, WestJet’s Vice-President of Network and Schedule Planning, emphasized the route’s significance. “This service provides a critical connection between the Greater Vancouver Area and Southern U.S., enabling travelers to explore Austin’s vibrant music scene and culinary landscape while offering U.S. guests convenient access to Vancouver’s iconic urban environment,” Fajardo stated.

The airline will offer 15 U.S. destinations with up to 93 weekly departures during peak summer travel season.
Russ Atkinson, Director of Air Service Development at YVR, highlighted the significance of the Austin route. “Austin’s global reputation as a premier live music destination enhances our airport’s connectivity,” Atkinson explained. The new route complements WestJet’s existing summer service expansions, including new non-stop flights to Boston, Massachusetts, and Tampa, Florida.
