This place has captured my interest more and more as I have learned about Red Bud over the years. The remnants of the dam blowout of April 1900, the quickness with which it was vegetated to the point of substantial growth, how it became a part of the land bridge the fostered the creation of westlake. There’s even a different walking path on the opposite side of Red Bud Isle that comes right up to the dam and disappears into the water. I love seeing this recent physical creation next to the dam with meters upon meters of water stored up behind it. submitted by /u/radio_guy_47 |
