Kendrick Lamar US Harper’s Bazaar November 2024

Samira Nasr has been at the helm of Harper’s Bazaar since 2020 and is marking four years as editor-in-chief by welcoming Kendrick Lamar as cover star. The American rapper and songwriter, who makes for a surprise cover star, joins the likes of Jennie of Blackpink, Naomi Campbell, Winona Ryder, Emma Corrin, Anok Yai, Regina King, Solange Knowles and Gisele Bündchen as Bazaar cover subjects throughout 2024. Via the lens of Quentin de Briey, Kendrick (regarded as one of the most influential hip hop artists of his generation) is styled by Harper’s Bazaar style director Carlos Nazario. In the sunlit cover photograph, the 17-time Grammy Award winner is decked out in a jacket and trousers from Celine by Hedi Slimane and a New Era cap.

“Not my thing,” critiqued Children Surrender.

“Not mine either. Whatsoever,” echoed vogue28. “I am genuinely sat here struggling to find one positive critique regarding this cover. Not a fan of the fact Kendrick Lamar is on the cover or the totally lifeless cover shot. Uggggggggh, hate this.”

“I think it’s an OK-ish photo but obviously does not belong anywhere near the cover of a women’s fashion magazine,” added KoV.

In complete agreement was Kenny. “This might work for a Rolling Stone cover. However, I don’t see it fitting for a women’s fashion mag like Harper’s Bazaar,” they noted.

“I can see the cover photograph with an American GQ or Esquire logo, but not Harper’s Bazaar. There is nothing special or unforgettable about it. It is very safe and boring,” forum member MModa voiced.

“This is a great image for Harper’s Bazaar MEN,” said matheus_s.
