Camila Cabello Cut a Choppy Bob

In the accompanying interview, Camila Cabello told the outlet about the pop-star peers who inspire her, starting with Queen Bey, whom she ran into over the summer. “She was like, ‘I love your new album.’ I think I said something like, ‘I literally would not be here without you,’” Cabello revealed, quickly adding, “Oh, f-ck, now I’m going to sound name-drop-y! But Beyoncé told me she loved my album, OK? That’s the gold star. And I walked away fully, like, tears brimming in my eyes. She’s somebody I’ve watched from my childhood. Her and Taylor saying nice things about the album really meant a lot to me. Anytime an artist that I respect has said something to me like, ‘Hey, I really love what you’re doing,’ it recharges my battery. A lot of the time I felt so misunderstood.” (If Beyoncé ever so much as blinked at me you would never hear the end of it, so go ahead, Cam.)

The pop singer also reflected, “Being in the industry made me build that harder shell and harder exterior. Like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Taylor [Swift] — this kind of bravado happens in their later work,” and she stated that “All I wanna do in this lifetime is make Britney Spears giggle.”

In an especially positive development, Cabello revealed that when she ran into former Fifth Harmony bandmate Normani in September, they shared a laugh: “It doesn’t feel like we’re strangers. We’re getting back to the times when we really close.”

But, like, what is going on with your hair?
