by Adlah Chisti
I’m Adlah Chisti, and I’m running for District 11 Supervisor because our community deserves a leader who understands our challenges, shares our values, and has the determination to make District 11 a place where we can all thrive. As someone who grew up right here in District 11, I feel deeply connected to our community. I know the challenges we face, because I’ve lived them too. This community has shaped who I am, and it’s where I’ve chosen to come back and work for the place I call home. Now, as a candidate for Supervisor, I’m committed to ensuring that all of us – whether you’re part of a multigenerational family or a new family – can thrive in a district that genuinely represents our shared values and needs. My vision is simple: to create a district where every resident can feel supported, respected and empowered.
With my parents nearby and my daughter growing up here, I’m committed to addressing the issues we face daily – from housing to public safety to education – through practical, inclusive solutions that uplift every resident.
My priorities and vision
Housing for all and at all levels
ousing is the foundation of a thriving community, and we need it at all levels. Housing isn’t just a necessity – it brings vibrancy to our neighborhoods and strengthens our local economy. I’m committed to expanding housing so that working class families can stay, grow and thrive in District 11.
Safer streets and community trust
Public safety is a major concern for our district, and I believe that strong community trust is the foundation of safer streets. I’m committed to creating a safer environment for our children, families and seniors. It is important we see more bike and foot patrols, recruit and retain officers and first responders, support community policing, improve street lighting, eliminate illegal dumping, and increase neighborhood safety programs.
I’ll work closely with community leaders and law enforcement and by fostering trust and accountability, we can ensure that everyone feels safe, respected and heard in our district.
Quality education and youth support
s a former teacher at James Lick Middle School, I know that strong schools are essential for thriving communities. I’m committed to supporting District 11 schools by advocating for more funding, increased mental health support, and opposing any school closures across our district. Every child deserves access to high-quality education and a safe learning environment that encourages them to reach their full potential.
Empowering small businesses and revitalizing our economy
Small businesses are the heart of District 11, and we need to support them so they can thrive. I’ll work to streamline the process to open a business and support grants and resources to help local business owners recover and grow. A resilient local economy starts with a solid foundation for our small businesses, and I’m committed to making that a reality.
Finally, our community’s health must be prioritized. Access to healthcare, clean air and safe public spaces are essential to our quality of life. As Supervisor, I will advocate for community spaces that promote mental and physical well-being, such as parks, libraries and recreational centers. I am also committed to making District 11 a leader in environmental action by supporting clean energy initiatives, accessible public transit and climate education in our schools.
This campaign is about making our district a safer, more vibrant, and more affordable place to live for everyone. I am ready to work hard, listen closely and fight for the changes our community needs. Together, we can build a brighter future for District 11.
I’m not just running for Supervisor – I’m running for our community. Let’s build this future together.
